Yep, but usually they have relationship and the other character try to break MC relationship.
Theres is a tag, but there is something worse. Not putting that tag in and getting surprised whilst author denies vehemently that is NTR. Unlucky for me who encountered that twice. One few years ago and now this year.
I don't know, that just seems to be an average plot element of a long running romance story to me. Maybe I'm weird, but for example, I've read a story in which there was a character that constantly bugged the couple, in the end because she wanted them to split. To me, it was just a plot element, not the main plot, not even the main obstacle, just one of many pebbles at the side.
If I'm strict, I might have that element in one of my current stories later on as well, where someone who once killed one of the characters (uh, well, there's undead people in that story, not zombies, but brought back to life) comes back and wants to meddle in their life, for example split them from all the people around them, including their new partner and everyone else, to make them suffer and come back to them (they were a stalker to begin with, hence how they came to murder them). I still wouldn't feel the need to accredit this to a Tag like that. That's not an unimportant part, because it serves to reveal something else, but the fact that she's trying to break them up is just a whim of her obsessiveness. :sweating_profusely: :blob_hmm_two: :blob_pout:

NTR
BL
genderbender -I'm not reading pseudoyuri written by a dude
fanfiction - literally 90% of the fanfics in this site is shonenshit and capeshit harem powerfantasy fanfics
josei in NovelUpdates - I'm sick of villainess shit most of them aren't even good they're just subtly written rape fantasies. haven't seen any in SH tho
evil religions - sick of these. Some of them work but most of them are just cliche
Xianxia -unless it's a parody I'm not touching these again unless it's actually proven to be good

Looks like NTR and BL are the most common tags listed. I understand the first one, but there's a disturbing lack of boykissers in this forum smh

NTR
BL—not interested in men.
Fanfiction—I'm allergic to them.

Sorry friend but fujos are just a vocal minority in SH. you'll find more of them in the sister site NovelUpdates.

Futa. But not because I have a problem with chicks with dicks, I just have a problem with it because most authors that use them as a stand in for everything male. It's so ingrained that the futas are male stand ins that they act 100% male except for the time boobs are relevant for a joke. It's extremely boring, cause we already got regular cis smut, and I've read enough of that to be bored of it. Like, you'd think there'd be some kind of futa orgy or something, nope you just got the futa harem GBing the normie package girl MC exactly like how a cis porn vids would go. Very boring.

BL because it's either very deep in weeb culture with seme and ukes, or it's very flamboyantly gay. There's more than two modes of being gay ma guys and dirty girls.

GL is a miss 90% of the time. Mainly because it's usually a reincarnated or magically male to female, and they don't have their new biology influence them. Which means they just magically keep their previous life's sexuality some how, and the story becomes 100% girl power, slay queen, no men allowed unless they are evil so we can kick their asses. That's a story I've seen several dozen times, it's lazy with no research, and I'd rather not again.

I really think smut beyond cis is just subpar, and reads like a straight guy/girl wrote their ero fantasy, but they don't go all the way so it just reads as cis characters RPing as what they think the other gender/sex is like in bed. Not doin any research on real people has made the smut really boring and the relationships just an echo of hentai and porn instead of anything realistic.

Harem cause it's boring. I do give it a shot f it's a novel idea, but I'm usually disappointed. I truly don't get how people can enjoy it. There's just not much relationship building in those, so everyone comes of as one dimensional. Over compensation from the lonely basterds who don't touch grass or something?

Depressing, tragedy, dark, grimdark, slavery, evil protagonist, crazy protagonist, torture, corruption, guro, etc. Case I'm already depressed and don't need to add to it.

Mind control. Mainly because it's entirely too OP to be in a story at all. And no author has satisfied me when it comes to actually resolving the use of it. I've seen mind control be broken via: power of friendship, power of love, divine intervention self harm, magicaly dispelling others, but you know, that works on OTHERS. It's the Naruto Genjutsu nerf all over again. Makes no sense to add such a thing if you are going to have to nerf it to the point everyone and their mom can dispell it through shear willpower.

My kinks are as varied as they come... so for me the only tag I refrain from reading is the same I refrain from writing: Fanfiction.

I'm trying to overcome this (I haven't been able to read more than a few chapters) but so far no luck.
Everyone recommends The Wandering Inn to me but so far I just find it sort of annoying and generic.
Well, for what it's worth, I think Hari-Kiri Nonfeasance is what I'd like in an Isekai. A realistic one. Of course, the MC isn't Japanese, so when it happens his first thought is, "I'm in a CIA mind op" and he promptly screws everything up, but I always thought that was far more likely than everyone seamlessly slipping into someone else's life. Give it to chapter 20, if you give it a glance. The setup is rather long. but necessary since the total length should be pushing 800k words.
for me the only tag I refrain from reading is the same I refrain from writing: Fanfiction.
I haz another sad.

So all I do is read off my filters when finding stories? Easy.

Adult, Drama, Gender-Bender, Girls-love, Boys-love, Fanfiction, Harem, Smut,

Polygamy, Polyandry

Huh? technically only two of these are tags, the rest are genres. oh well.

:blob_hide: Tragedy. I don't like sad stuff. Also bl. Also gl too, but that is mostly because it's super common and I haven't read any good ones.

Honestly, the only thing that really puts me off a more serious novel is Harem, it just (usually) makes the characters that the MC is interested in so unbearably one-dimensional and boring! The same thing goes for any of the more fetish-y stuff like NTR.

I don't mind it as much when I'm purposely reading smut though.
