I haven't listened to AI-generated songs, and I think I prefer not to. It feels unauthentic.

They are not the best songs, I say the ‘fun’ comes from the ‘creation’, and even that is only because I don’t want to unpack and turn on my laptop, and open up MuseScore.

Trying the Jpop and Visual Novel arrangement with some unusual setups

https://suno.com/song/99aef81e-84f4-42c6-8a7d-64703c4a3f39 (sounds like standard jazz instead of jpop)

https://suno.com/song/6eec64ee-c74f-4ef9-829b-7fb6c6ed8b8d (sounds like the battle theme in visual novel)

https://suno.com/song/c0ed9866-cbd8-4bd6-9219-1fc84ebc65ca (i really enjoy how the intro turns to a jazzy breakdown)

https://suno.com/song/9bf85c28-304a-40ef-b062-b429f3ed7038 (the beginning sounds like death tone from rengoku teien, oh damn some singing got mixed up)

https://suno.com/song/3d1cf8af-5c58-49f6-b4cf-c277747d5b37 (i only kept the weird time signature for this one, doesn't really sound that weeby for me, but it'd be fucking epic theme for when the idiot friend steps up in a medieval or fantasy themed one)

https://suno.com/song/a286731e-a4c9-4b01-b92f-50ab36daade9 (same as above, but it turns out to be my fav arrangement on this batch. it goes hard from the first bars)

Funny theme

North Korean jazz ❤️

it sounds more like the backing track from the police songs

i feel canterbury scene is more like this
Are you by any chance a connoisseur of progressive rock? It's one of my favorite music genres. It's not easy to meet people who share this preference. Indeed, the AI's result doesn't much resemble classic Canterbury, but I didn't mind the outcome. For me, Camel is more representative of Canterbury:

this feels like the song that the backstreet boys don't want to release cuz it makes their teenage girl fans on suicide watch
I couldn't have described the song better! :ROFLMAO:

A69
Heavy Metal, Nu Metal, Alternative Metal, Progressive Metal, Metalcore
A robust guitar solo using one of @gaylolis prompts.

sounds pretty djent
Indeed, I'm quite satisfied with the result. It would also make a good Boss Battle Theme.
Good lyrics, sounds nice. I made an account just to save to a playlist.
Would love some neoclassical or orchestral power metal. (not heavy metal)
I'm very glad you like it! I would like to try making some power metal pieces like Rhapsody of Fire once I've gotten a bit more practice with the AI.

I really like the sound of this one
Sorry Ane-San? It came out very well.

ok, imma have to try this suno thing out sometime. so weird when the song just ends.
We need dragon songs! :blobrofl:

according to progarchives camel is described more as symphonic prog

there's also list of bands that fit under the canterbury scene

some of the prominent bands are caravan, khan, gong, hatfield and the north, national health and soft machine

i may describe it as a bri'ish men playing jazz fusion prog rock or maybe the jazzy prog rock that gives you the beatles vibe? they did have that unique vibe that's hard to describe lol

to your question, indeed i was an avid fan of prog, though i also listen to classical and jazz as well. camel is among the great bands, so you have a nice taste :D

the 70s bands are overall great but i don't really pick any favorites since a lot of them are great. i just listen to whatever sound fancy my ears.

if i name a few, i'd pick gabriel era genesis, gentle giant, camel, iq and big big train. a lot of their music are a hit for me.

Indeed, I'm quite satisfied with the result. It would also make a good Boss Battle Theme.

probably something like this, kinda giving dream theater vibes

just experiment with jpop songs, translate the lyrics at your own risk lol

personally just google tl'd them to jp and the contents are pretty unhinged

https://suno.com/song/6c301476-5f11-490d-ad80-b27aff36d390 (the story is about the girl's big brother turning to a girl but her pp were still big)

https://suno.com/song/aec977d2-c9ac-4e7e-97e3-a389b70bad3a (same song but different arrangement)

https://suno.com/song/5afb2ffb-4a38-42da-b1a7-19343123f37a (the fairy persuades a young man to become a loli for the sake of world domination)

https://suno.com/song/f3e88b90-fff7-4d54-9b23-8e25b8541042 (just different arrangement of the song above)

https://suno.com/song/fbbb91e1-8149-40a8-904d-df5c7afe30ee (unhinged rap about how society sucks after she failed to confess to girl she love, and how she wanted to start over by being a bald monk girl secretly cooking mixtapes)

https://suno.com/song/aebdceb9-789b-46b6-8db5-7c2834e4f1eb (different arrangement of above song)

also lol

did they really have anti nsfw filter on their lyrics? how tf these go through xD

just some jpop singing gibberish

the rest i didn't post since i might get banned for it, so i tried to make it sing really perverted lyric in japanese and make it really close to speaking instead of singing

i had slightly successful result but i immediately deleted them after saving it lol

also, the nsfw filter might work mostly on the song title. i can get away with really pervy lyrics in jp (probably won't work if it's in english tho)

i got lazy to write my own lyrics so i just went with the ones i got

still using jpop tag

https://suno.com/song/1af6ceb2-26fe-4a79-abc0-1964d508c220 (ride on time en ver)

https://suno.com/song/ae24c613-6feb-44e1-a146-2d0c6e2cc9ea (sekaiju no dare yori kito en ver, my fav among the others)

https://suno.com/song/48843afa-3328-481d-be6d-d1290f60ddc5 (ride on time using the original jp lyrics but in romaji, guess it also works)

i like how the engrish accent still get here even when they sing in english

some more experiment

using the pinyin ver of super idol. even with jpop tags, though it sang the song as if chinese pop lol

==

this one with japanese lyrics (romaji of sekaijuu no dare yori kito, it now feels like jpop)

==

ride on time but using the prog rock prompt and some bits at the beginning, still sounds like jpop

==

Kimi Ga Suki Da To Sakebitai (Slam Dunk OP) tried with the prog rock as well, but it's also more like jpop

==

sekaijuu no dare yori kito, but with jazz fusion prompt, Jpop sounding too. though the arrangement so far is my fav.

the time signature and major scale thing doesn't seem to work though.

https://suno.com/song/236c37e5-e256-4174-9d48-e6780044c898 (now it starts to sound like jazz fusion)

==

tl;dr they didn't seem to recognize prog rock as musical style

the lyric language might play a bigger role for vocal songs than the musical setting in the start

CAMEL discography and reviews
according to progarchives camel is described more as symphonic prog

there's also list of bands that fit under the canterbury scene

Canterbury Scene, a progressive rock music sub-genre
some of the prominent bands are caravan, khan, gong, hatfield and the north, national health and soft machine

i may describe it as a bri'ish men playing jazz fusion prog rock or maybe the jazzy prog rock that gives you the beatles vibe? they did have that unique vibe that's hard to describe lol
I guess I made a mistake. Prog is so full of subgenres and scenes that it's easy to get confused sometimes.
You're right, I believe Symphonic Prog is an accurate description of Camel.
I wasn't aware of this site; it's a great source of references to explore. Thanks for sharing it!🤩
to your question, indeed i was an avid fan of prog, though i also listen to classical and jazz as well. camel is among the great bands, so you have a nice taste :D

the 70s bands are overall great but i don't really pick any favorites since a lot of them are great. i just listen to whatever sound fancy my ears.

:blob_highfive: A fellow prog enjoyer! 🤩
After all, classical music is the foundation of prog rock music, especially the more technical bands, and it has also been influenced by jazz. But then again, what hasn't been influenced by jazz?
I love Camel, but there are even more substantial bands that come before them. My absolute favorite band is Yes, and "Close To The Edge" is my all-time favorite album. It's a somewhat predictable choice, but it's objectively a timeless masterpiece. Following them are King Crimson and Genesis with Peter Gabriel.

My favorite pieces are "Starless" and "In The Wake Of Poseidon" (King Crimson), "Firth of Fifth" (Genesis), "Heart of The Sunrise" and "Close to the Edge" (YES).
Each of them interprets the genre in their own way, and every music is always a journey.

did they really have anti nsfw filter on their lyrics? how tf these go through xD
also, the nsfw filter might work mostly on the song title. i can get away with really pervy lyrics in jp (probably won't work if it's in english tho)
It wouldn't let me use the words "torture" or "🅱️iggas." I think the filter only works in English, judging by your songs in Japanese...

The choir makes it all epic.❤️

https://suno.com/song/67dabf8c-51e1-463c-8dd4-3b77c906b84b <- Weird and a bit too Beatles-y, but good. 6/10
I like this folk-style version.

https://suno.com/song/6c301476-5f11-490d-ad80-b27aff36d390 (the story is about the girl's big brother turning to a girl but her pp were still big)

https://suno.com/song/aec977d2-c9ac-4e7e-97e3-a389b70bad3a (same song but different arrangement)

https://suno.com/song/5afb2ffb-4a38-42da-b1a7-19343123f37a (the fairy persuades a young man to become a loli for the sake of world domination)

https://suno.com/song/f3e88b90-fff7-4d54-9b23-8e25b8541042 (just different arrangement of the song above)

https://suno.com/song/fbbb91e1-8149-40a8-904d-df5c7afe30ee (unhinged rap about how society sucks after she failed to confess to girl she love, and how she wanted to start over by being a bald monk girl secretly cooking mixtapes)

The contrast between the lyrics and the music style really makes me laugh; they are all great experiments nonetheless. This AI performs really well in Japanese.

tl;dr they didn't seem to recognize prog rock as musical style

Maybe I've managed to create something that can be defined as prog? I figured out how to make longer songs, but it cost me quite a few credits.
Since you're an expert, maybe you can tell with your ear if it fits the genre. It's definitely experimental. I used several of your prompts for the instrumental parts, though I'm not sure if it followed them exactly.
I like the experiment, just a shame about a bit of noise.

COSMIC SKIES

Progressive Rock, Prog, Progressive Metal, Synthwave, Synth, Electronic, Organ, Ambient, Experimental,

By extending the songs, I've created a Jungle, Breakcore, Drum and Bass piece that's quite good and serves as the closing theme for the latest chapter I wrote for the Scribble Hub fan fiction. I really like the result.

A SIMPLE FANTASY

Female singer,Jungle, Breakcore, Synthwave, Synth, DnB, Electronic, Drum and Bass, Ambient, Experimental

To conclude, an R&B piece about a festival in honor of a daikon deity, trying to make use of the Japanese bamboo flute. The result is pleasing.
