Changing your username just 'cause your work sucks/ got castrated

... Just noticed this practice being done by CN authors, Ie I saw one guy who did it, I have no idea if the Japs and Koreans do it too.

I see SH authors who would either leave their miscarriaged works around when they have no plans for rewrite or dump it into the trash when they do, but I have never seen anyone who would go to the extreme to change their user and sell themselves as a "brand new writer :p"

A couple of reasons it failed for the above example:
1. He already said that a rewrite is inbound.
2. Same main character name and techniques "Monkey Fists" but with more fists like Crane, Tiger, etc.

Usuaully I would just ignore such a practice as even the writer of Legendary Mechanic has a flop work before (it's wish fulfilment shit on wish fulfilment level) , but it is the sheer audacity of this author's tehepero that makes me want to ask the extent of you bleaching your underwears should you shit yourself.

Well, I personally considered making another account where I’ll try writing smut to see what all the hype is about. The main reason I thought of doing this is that some of the ppl that read my work, I know in real life, so it’d be pretty awkward if I suddenly started writing smut. But yeah, never really got the chance to do that just yet

Now that this thread existed, I finally got an idea on how to escape scrutiny once I wrote something much worse than what I am writing now.

did something similar once years back. It wasn't cuz the works failed but rather cuz for some reason i used A different username when i started writing it. It was a username i used a lot but then i started using a different name in some places and because i wanted to be a troll one day they overlapped and i just never told anyone it was me.

Was just one of those things where i slowly switched from one name to another and people thought they were different dudes and i never corrected them. Which was fine cuz i stopped using that user entirely.

I actually feel bad about it tho cuz the old stories i posted under that name i LIKED but now i just got too many stories i started but don't update often so i cant take them on .

Also, my style changed a bit. Reading them now, i could've done them better by saying less. I guess i could continue them but i also don't know what the fuck is going on anymore lol. Forgot a lot of stuff.

Shame, lotta people did give me good reviews. But that's just how the cookie crumbles.

Look I'll pull bad drafts on the acknowledgement that they're not very good, but changing your online presence? Really? That's just flimsy, if you did something stupid and dumb, own it, improve, and do better. Reasonable people will give you multiple chances, and the majority of your readers are probably reasonable people.

I agree with your points but many of the online peeps have no balls enough to own to their mistakes (hiding behind internet anonimity). They even want to 'normalize' everything so they have an excuse not to feel guilty about it.

I use many usernames on the vast ocean that is the internet.
I've even met people with the same username on different platforms while I was using a different username.
Its more of a fun past time for me at this point.

As for the author thing, I have yet to upload any novels with this username. For who I really am, is but a mystery :<

I'll probably do it after I finish / abandon my current novel. Not just because of the low ratings and bad reviews, but also because it's better to abandon your lewd work if you want to write something legit that you can publish on Amazon.

This is doubly more so when @Zirrboy thinks that somehow, I myself believe that having an internal monologue is weird.

Nope, even after I wrote things that put this site's worst to a shame. My first work was a crossover fanfiction (Date a Live and Dark Souls) that gained over 500k reads on the freaking WATTPAD and completed it with 69 chapters after one year hiatus.
