Yeah, native characters would be interesting. I could make them a bit more tragic, and add a bit more darkness to the world. That sounds like a story I'd want to read, but I'll still keep the characters the way they are though. I've written too much to change things now, I'm up to chapter 16 in rough draft. Plus instead of pure Grimdark, I could go in a more Nobledark direction with these characters. We'll have to see.

Honestly, I don't think a proper SJW would actually have an issue with my story if they read it. I've labeled the sexual content, even added a trigger warning, anyone who reads my story shouldn't be caught off guard. It's kinda all there, right in the title. Also, it's got a f-ed up misogynistic setting, but the text itself isn't all that misogynistic.

I'm 11 chapters in, about 45k words and I think I've done a decent job of making things interesting so far. And yeah, I don't intend on getting too repetitive. I agree, if every encounter is just "and then she was filled with tentacles" things would definitely get boring. Luckily, there's plenty of room for new and interesting variations on scenes. I've got six fleshed out characters to play with.

Well, if a mod tells me there's something problematic in the story I have to change, and I can change it without ruining the story, then it shall be so. If it's not something I can change without rewriting everything, then my story goes poof on this site and I'll continue posting this on Ao3. Mods aren't the enemy, and I'll work with them if I can.

I am curious about why people are posting one star ratings though. Is it just because they don't like rapey smut? Why would they even rate my story then? Clearly it wasn't written for them.

As far as I know, people tend to superimpose their standards- and furthermore, their preferences- onto others, and/or other’s work(s). If they see harem as illogical, then they’ll trash every harem story they care to look at or stumble upon. Rape is a touchy subject for many people so many people will trash your work. Even more so since they can do so anonymously by voting the story as 1 Star

So I've written a story and posted it on Ao3. Link to the story. Here's the synopsis:



It's shamelessly lewd, with the majority of chapters having at least a little bit of explicit sexual content. I've read the scribblhub content guidelines and they seem a little vague, and open to interpretation. So, specifically...

1) Pornographic stories: I'm not allowed to write "porn without plot." In my case, I'm writing porn with plot. I've got strong characters, character arcs, and the sex is sort of incidental to the overall plot of our isekai protagonists surviving and finding their place in the world. That said, well over 50% of the story contains chapters with lewd scenes, and some chapters are only lewd scenes.

2) Age of Consent: None of the protagonists are below the age of consent, though one is in a body that looks loli-esque, despite being mentally older. There's also a character that lost their virginity and lived as a sex slave at a young age, though it's only talked about in dialogue as part of their backstory and not "shown" explicitly. Also in the worldbuilding, monsters do not discriminate by age, and young slaves aren't given any protections either. It happens in the background, but none of it is "shown" explicitly. It's also always a bad thing when described, never condoned.

3) Encouraging Non-consensual content: If I get in trouble anywhere, it would be here. None of my protagonists are rapists, though some of them are into consensual domination and rape roleplay. Similarly, pretty much all the characters get raped by monsters or humans at some point, and the point of view character has a submissive rape fetish so she actually enjoys getting raped herself. That said, rape is never shown as being "okay" when it happens to characters that aren't necessarily into it. The main character's masochism is sort of their special superpower.

4) Illegal sex acts: Monster rape: Some of the monsters are beast shaped. They're not normal animals, but they're also not intelligent or sapient, just mindless sex beasts taking various forms, humanoid and non-humanoid. Also, certain villains are into acts of extreme sadism including potential death. They inflict bad things on the protagonist. None of this is condoned as "good" in any way.

So, my story is sort of borderline. I personally think it obeys the guidelines, but there's room for interpretation, and I wouldn't want to post my story and have some overzealous moderator ban me for it later. That said, there are some pretty lewd stories posted here already, many of which feature the unambiguous rape of submissive protagonists and are pretty popular. For example:

So, what do we think? Opinions? Feedback?

I'm not sure what would happen if one specific chapter was reported to break the guidelines though, maybe Tony would contact you about it or maybe he'd take that one chapter down and send you an e-mail on the why... I genuinely don't know.

Either way, rest assured that you won't get banned from posting a story here... I mean, I guess direct plagiarism might get you banned, but that's the only thing I can think of, and even that is a maybe.
