Ai-chan has a sci-fi story set in the far future about a planet overrun by zombies. The zombie are very strong, resistant to lasers, fire and cold as well as vacuum. The infection is an alien lifeform capable of infecting both living organisms and metallic constructs such as spaceships, though if they can't access the mechanical control systems, there's nothing much they can do.
The story goes, the system patrol encountered a fleet of derelict ships. When they boarded one of the ships, the alien parasites awaken and assimilated them. A fleet of patrol ships were sent but only one managed to escape and report back to patrol HQ. But without realizing it, this ship is already infected and starts infecting the space station it's docked at. As the patrol HQ in the orbit of the gas giant gets infected, a military task force was formed in order to sterilize the station and everything around it. The attack failed, but the task force managed to deal enough damage that they managed to stop the infection from spreading at the cost of 100% losses.
You're probably wondering, how could there be 100% losses? Surely at some point the captain would value the lives of his crew and turn back or the crew themselves would mutiny. That has to do with the values and history of the people.
Corinthus was once a fringe colony. Due to high taxation and starvation, they rebelled and stole the single battleship the systems alliance placed on the orbit to quell their rebellion. Using this single battleship, they beat back 3 separate invasions until the battleship was finally destroyed with all hands on board. Due to this, they have great pride in not retreating from battle unless there is a specific order to do so. This event also turned their people completely militaristic, with a council of military officers reigning at the top of their society.
At the end of the story, the planet would be invaded by these parasitic lifeforms when the space fleet failed to stop the infected ships from crash-landing on the planet. When the number of casualty mounted and the number of Corinthias (what they call their people, Corinthias is plural, Corinthi is singular) becoming infected reaches in the billions, the protagonist tries to buy time at the evacuation site so that the evacuation ships can leave for systems alliance space or one of their own fringe colonies.
When the protagonist feels the despair of the defensive troops meant to die, she decides to stoke their spirits. Not through making speech, but by running their national anthem interspersed with speeches of the founding fathers of their nation.
Now here's Ai-chan's problem. Ai-chan has no idea what to put into an anthem that would've stoked the spirits of a militaristic nation who feels pride in self sacrifice and loathes cowardice. Ai-chan only manages the following at the end of the anthem:
Corinthias, Corinthias!
Hear our engines roar!
With a thunderous march,
And a million guns,
War, war,
Come and fight!
Remember Princess Diaries? Corinthias, Corinthias is sang the same way as Genovia, Genovia but without the high pitch at 'no'.
What do you think Ai-chan should include prior to this?
Do you have suggestions on what the previous lines of the lyrics should be?
Frankly speaking, the whole story was built around this lyric. This lyric came from Ai-chan's dream, where Ai-chan stood at the top of the wall firing rounds after rounds into the infected until the ammo ran out and Ai-chan gave up. Then this song blared. Ai-chan couldn't remember the rest of the lyrics, but this part was very memorable to Ai-chan, probably because it was at this part that Ai-chan woke up as Ai-chan stabbed on the infected only to also be infected shortly after. The pain of infection and the fear of being taken over was probably what woke Ai-chan.
