As you can see, this time some more new data- average views! Average rating! Though due to big spread, average is not the most useful data point here... but you can see that for yourself later.
Percentile
Quick explanation to those that might have forgotten their high school education: Percentile tells you at what point you get above X percent of people. So a pair of 80 percentile and 11 600 views, means that if you have 11 600 views, your novel has more views than 8/10 of all novels on scribblehub. It's nice because it tells you what is your position relative to others.Log graphs
Most graphs in here use log on their vertical axis. I'm sorry but I'm too lazy to write 200 words in simple terms on why this is better way to represent this type of data, just trust me.Views

Chapters
~20% of novels are dropped after 1 chapter. Less than half reach chapter 10. It’s to be expected I guess? Still.. slightly sad.Percentile | Chapter count | Percentile | Chapter count |

Wrog horizontal label - its not pos in total views ranking, its position in ranking of avg favorites. Basically it shows you how many novels there are with each average.
Avg chapter length
Most interesting from the new stats to me - It seems that super majority of all novels are between 1 000 and 3 000 words (60%) Only 7% go above 4 000. Now I feel a bit bad about my average of 800 words. On the graph you can also clearly see a positive correlation between average length, and position in ranking... until a point that is.Percentile | Avg length | Percentile | Avg length |

This graph has wrong horizontal label- it's just a graph of avg chapter lengths vs position in sorted list by chapter length.
Rating (only top 3 000, meaning above 2 000 total views)
I dropped novels that had less than 2 000 views, as their ratings seemed completly random. As you can see, most people on this website are quite kind to authors!Percentile | Rating |

Or if you want to see it in a graph form
The red line is trend line - it shows pretty clearly that the more views you have, the more likely it is someone is going to give you a 1. Hopefully, it's not annoyed competing authors.. (It's not me! I swear!)
Time from last update
It seems pretty clear that half of all novels can be considered abbandoned/completed (more than 3 months since last chapter, 64%). Only about 12% are updated at least once a week.Last activity | |
