What's wrong with the writing style and integrity of the Chinese and Japanese authors nowadays?

Here is a quote from a random novel of a random Chinese author:
However, no one could be sure when Qin Tang might return.

So, they all wanted to take the opportunity to fall asleep.

But...

Sleeping, for those who often suffer from insomnia, was certainly a familiar struggle.

If there were no mental burdens, falling asleep was natural.

However, on the contrary, if one kept worrying about something, forcing oneself to sleep.
Why do they write "one paragraph - one sentence"? Moreover, they write as short, as possible sentences, often abruptly and arbitrary teared in two, they even write sentences from one word. Why?

In my opinion, if a novel is written "one paragraph - one sentence", it means it is written for m*ntally r*tarded persons, or by a m*ntally r*tarded person, or both variants. Disgusting.

"How DARE authors use a different style?"
All things considered, you have to look at the raws first before judging. It may just be the translator being paragraphobic.
You may look an the originals before trying being edgy. For example, go to qidian and randomly check novels. I don't post without research.
Not everyone likes cilantro.

If you don't like something, don't read it.
You should distinguish between matter of taste and matter of quality

It is because of the writing style of different cultures. Most probably those are light novels, because light novels are "light" to read.

Maybe you should learn to accept things for how they are instead of insulting authors as a whole. Styles change and evolve. Language change and evolve. Idk, it might be normal for THEIR LANGUAGE to have paragraphs like that. You sound like a boomer shrieking at girls wearing skimpy dresses.

1) More white spaces indicate an easy, fast read.
2) short paragraphs make you read faster. Even in a very slow-moving scene, you kind of just breeze through it.

I think this style is designed specifically for web novels meant to be read on your phone while on commute. You just scroll down and read on. Kinda like reading visual novels where you only see a few sentences at a time.

It's not about the difference of the writing style of different cultures. The Chinese authors of real literature write in common style as around the world.
because light novels are "light" to read.
that's what I mean, they consider their readers m*ntally r*tarded.
You mean you read a work in Chinese language, and didn't like how Chinese write? Well, you can't compare English and Chinese since both languages are totally different. Same for Japanese.
You said like this because you didn't read the good Chinese literature.
