Help coming up with a plot

Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down. No, wait, that was a slogan, not a plot. Meh, close enough?

Average amount of planning and outlining.

Outlines for me are usually a couple pages long. The story itself tends to bloat whilst being written to whatever size I originally thought I would need. Several epiphanies later mad pruning sets in, followed by restructuring and regrowth back to a size I never could have predicted.

why many authors drop their stories which is still in its beginning.

Lots of reasons, which fall under two categories. Author’s fault. Insufficient plotting/planning, wrote into a corner, not feeling it, grown to hate the character and/or plot. You really should write lots of chapters ahead and be able to resolve most of these issues before anyone is aware of...

Writing Prompt Aliens have lives too, you know?

There is that theory that each world is like its own organism. Space probes are meticulously sterilized, HG Wells War of the Worlds and even Agent Smith’s hypothesis from the Matrix sort of stuff. When you summon a hero from Earth, you’re summoning a virus. Viruses don’t care about the host...

A what if question, if you could go back in time to one point.

There’s this theory that there are these things called multiple states in physics, that when you travel back in time it would simply be another state of the timeline, and would affect nothing. As for the question, if I found a TARDIS and could go whenever? That’s really hard to answer. Things...

I can't even surpass a story that updates zero times a week and only has three chapters

Holy crap, how did you get all those views? And readers? Dang. I couldn’t come anywhere near those numbers. Trust me, you haven’t failed, you don’t even come close. That there is a smash hit compared to some.

What do you, as a reader, like to see in a novel?

    Good plot, great characters.

Writing Prompt What do you do when you go outside after it rains, and why?

Lament missing a stroll in the rain. So much better outside when it’s actually raining.

Reincarnated as an elderly with only one month left, what skill would you choose to survive?

Fourth. There was time now, it’s not fair! Oh, wait, infinite time and my eyes aren’t that bad, I can still read the large print books.

    the problem with originality

I remember someone telling me about a tabletop rpg where air and water weren’t essential, they were drugs keeping people from gaining the power of players. People get some weird ideas. Read a book once about peddling screenplays to Hollywood, basic tl;dr was 100 pages exactly or it goes...

    What draws you in?

Let’s see. The first gatekeeper is your title and cover art. First thing posted when you start a new series, always present when you update and when your story’s page is viewed. A clear, simple title and meaningful without looking childish cover art is probably best? These need to be “not bad”...

    How would you describe this

    Quarters? Groves? Not sure.

First Person Or Third Person for two character litrpg?

Be original, tell it from the system’s point of view and make it a second person narrative.

(Coming out tomorrow) Why Are The Demon Lord And Hero Friends!?

Grammar, syntax, spelling, talent: These things matter little here, don’t sweat the small stuff. You can always edit things later. And yes, write what you want to write the way you want to write it. Oh, and fair warning, tables in Scribblehub‘s editor are kind of, uh, tricky? litRPGs be warned.

    Monoatomic edge clash

Cleavage of one sword, not because one blade is inferior, but because one swordsman is. Swords are really hard to master using. One of the two would have a better swing, there is a component of force involved.

How to deal with this monster?

Wind mage removes air around their heads, they drop like flies. Move them to the ocean depths, they drown. Drop them in freakin’ liquid hot magma for one... billion coins! Killing them isn’t what’s hard, making the heroes heroic whilst doing so, that’s the rub. Something like, tracking the...

How to deal with this monster?

Do they need to breathe? Wind mages always lack imagination in this regard. Does magic resistance include teleportation? Lots of places you could move them to or part of them, or bring in troll-eating parasites. Or go Goblin Slayer and open a portal to the ocean floor. There are ways, but most...

    Modern & Technological vs Medieval & >>Magical<<

Raymond's Second Law: Any sufficiently advanced system of magic would be indistinguishable from a technology. You could go either way. My opinion? It stops being magic at some point and starts being thaumology.

Difference or the same? A bit of help to understand

I always thought demihuman was human-like with other features, including things like face, elves, dwarfs, cat girls, and the half-breeds between human and not. Beastkin are more like lizard men, aarakocra, full evolved animal form, only real resemblance to humans is being bipedal. Just my opinion.

Writing Prompt Summoned as... Player Two? Now what?

There you are, living your life, minding your own business, when through a million in a million mishap, you end up getting summoned to a world full of fire, suffering and little people with pitchforks. Your typical medieval fantasy world. You stand in the summoning circle, staring at the most...
