You're assuming that one would use the first two letters for a word in an ACRONYM. Acronyms use the first letter of each word. GIF and JPEG are the same as they are acronyms so they would be pronounced based on the first letter.

Go google the GIF version of the meme.

When you want a GIF from Discord, make sure the link you download is GIF, not PNG.
