I think it's time to get to the bottom of this. Is it really as bad as people complain it is or not? :blob_hmm_two: From now on, every day, I am going to inform you all about the happenings of new releases and trending. :blob_sir: How long will I do this? It will probably be a week or so. No promises, though. :blob_salute: What I will focus on here is two genres: smut and harem. I have no blacklisting nor set favorites; the site is as is seen without fiddling with settings. Let's start with the latter:

Trending (Daily Top 20)
Date: 2023.August.23​





  • Harem: 6 out of 20 = 30%
  • Smut: 2 out of 20 = 10%
Hey... that is pretty low... :blob_neutral: Oh well. Let's move on to the new books being uploaded:

  • Smut: 2 out of 20 = 10%
Again... this is not that bad. :blob_unsure: So... what's the complaint again I get to read again and again? What are you guys on about?:blob_catflip:

I admit this impromptu "research" is not rock solid. It relies on authors tagging their novels well. But if you want to complain, go ahead and do a proper one. :blob_frown: I will keep posting and updating this every day. Let's see how it fares. If there won't be 20 new books by tomorrow, then I will cut down its numbers but still give you the correct percentage, which is what matters, IMO. For now, we are in the green, I think. :blob_okay:

Quick Edit: People who think this is against either of the tags are simply bringing their bias into this. No, this is not against anything but only to satisfy my curiosity. To see if the complainers are right or not. Do smut and harem so prevalent that everything you click on is one of them? I am not here to tell you what to think but to show you what I see and experience so YOU can draw YOUR conclusion. Is "X%" a lot? Or is it not? It's up to you to decide. I present my findings; you make your decision. Case closed.

Scribblehub became Smuthub mostly because what's not allowed in other sites are okay here, so people go here. It's not that this is an erotica site. Rather this is a haven for webnovel smut writers not accepted elsewhere. Also, it's an ebb and flow of things. I recall threads cropping up every now and then that smut occupy the front page, then it goes away again, and so on.
The thing is, erotica sites aren't a good place for "webnovely" type of smut. So, it's a narrowband of smut that thrives here in the grand picture of erotica. I suppose it's more accurate to say that among all the sites that houses "webnovely" works, SH is where smut mostly goes. SH is far from an actual erotica novel site.

I'm only interested in the ratio of smut:non-smut. I don't care about the rest or if there is porn on the site. I welcome all the stories; I'm just fed up with the complaints and want to see for myself.

Your question is whether Smuthub is real or not, as per your title. I answered why this is called Smuthub.
Edit your title if you are only after "ratio of smut:non-smut". I was answering your question and being helpful. Don't change the topic here to suit your narrative. If you want to complain, then change the title. Don't make this look like something unbiased.

Not fully reliable. Mine is tagged adult, mature, and ecchi, too, because it has descriptions of gore and nudity. If people consider novels that have nudity in them and label it as smut, then we have a problem. As I said, it is not rock solid and relies on correct tagging by the author but I did not include adult nor mature nor ecchi as they don't mean erotica. This is why people should read my tutorial and tag their works correctly. :blob_no::blob_cookie:

Edit: I went for the two, seemingly most hated tags.

ff.net is in a crackdown on those things right now so... many of the authors are copying their works to other sites.

so expect some more smut stories finding their way here.

Well as one of the harem stories listed above, I do contain full on sex scenes, but at like 15 chapters out of 450 I wouldn't consider that a ratio high enough to be smut lol
