I came to this tag, unaware what it contained and what It was about. I wouldn't say that I liked it or hated it, but it left me a weird taste in my mouth.
But as I continued exploring, I found out that NTR was hated a lot more than I expected.
I asked myself why?
And it didn't take too long before I realized why others felt that way.
The answer was as easy as almost the reason why everyone reads manga/novels/nhentai, etc.
Most of us read novels/manga and watch anime in order to escape this harsh reality that we have to deal with every day. It's a pleasant feeling that makes us forget that we'll never have a fantasy-life like them...
And that's when it comes with NTR.
NTR is a sensitive subject where it happens in reality a lot more than you'd expect. Someone will get hurt, some would break and some would literally experience trauma from it.
Everyone might have crushes, girlfriends/bf, and maybe even a wife/husband! And one day you'll find that your partner never cherished her/his body as much as you expected... They want someone else instead of you.
It hurts... but in the end what can you do about it? That's life..
That's why they decide to escape that feeling by watching/reading something nice. But instead they see NTR in our loved manga/novel/anime as well...
They come to the point where they would even curse out the author for writing/drawing such a thing that would anger many of us.
Some might even use NTR to remind themself to stop fantasizing and accept themself for whatever they are.
BUT!!
At some point, I've come to like where author's use a bit of NTR in their novels and manga. (not where the mc enjoys it)
Not because I enjoy it, but because it shows how much it resembles reality. (it still makes me angry)
The heroine/crush doesn't have to end up with the mc. She/he will one day be bored with the partner at some point, and you probably wont do anything about it cause nothing will work after being broken by someone you trusted and loved so much.
This is reality! Even your soulmate is probably banging someone else right now.

I personally think if you start seeing yourself as the mc of a NTR, then you will hate it, but I personally don't think someone won't see themselves as Naruto or Ichigo or Luffy, same goes for NTR protagonists. I don't see myself in the mc of these stories, I just enjoy the story as it is, some will like it, some won't but I personally love that genre, as I have never been cheated on, So I don't relate to it.

Honestly, I find NTR (in anime and mangas) really amusing.
I mean, I'm obviously not fine with NTR but I do find it amusing since it's overly exaggerated in those medium, especially when it's supported with the mind break, corruption, ugly bastard, and moral degeneration tag.
Guess what? People aren't driven by sexual desires per se. Even the people who "enjoyed" getting rammed will, at times, not be in the mood for it. Research about the porn industry or about your favorite porn stars, and you'll most likely read that as much as they enjoy it, they get uncomfortable with it at times, especially when they developed STDs.
Sure, we are driven by desires, but with the NTR found in those different medium, it's depicting that people--usually women--will submit to their "inner, suppressed desires" when offered some meat.
And don't get me started with ugly fat bastards. God, I laugh for many minutes every time I see a fat bastard somehow able to last for MULTIPLE hours in sex when they can't even finish a 1km race without having to take a break for every 10-20 steps. Am I fat shaming? Probably, but I'm just making a point to how unrealistic ugly bastards are.
Unfortunately, there are "realistic" ones when the women gets drugged, raped (sometimes willingly), blackmailed, and eventually gets hooked with it and they can't stop. This usually happens with emotionally unstable women or women who wants to "feel like a woman" and it makes them feel loved. May I remind thee about Metamorphosis? There may not be NTR, but it does show you how people can get corrupted easily with the wrong people. And this does actually happen IRL and it is a saddening fact. How is this different from the third paragraph, you may ask? Well, it's the fact that the "porn-plot" of the third paragraph were only made to satisfy the fantasies of degenerates. However, in this paragraph, it does not necessarily appeal to the porn fantasy, instead it shows us the sad and sickening reality of our society.
I have a friend (I'll call Jake for this story) whose girlfriend cheated on him for a younger man. Jake obviously got pissed and confronted her. A few days later, they "reconciled." However, not even a month later, she cheated on him again with a younger man. Jake again confronted her and reconciled a few days later, but it was always the same. Jake wanted to make it work between them since they were together for many years now (since high school), but we (me and our other friends) knew better. After a bit of struggle, he had enough and broke up with her. What pissed me off is that the woman got "official" with the young man she's been having an affair with that same day he broke up with her. I pity the man, you know. He's really a great person. However, thankfully, he moved on and is with a girl who is so far amazing. No idea what happened to the bitch but I heard that she's no longer with that young man and had more relationships with young men after that. Seriously, what's with her and young men?
