I remember I was reading this one shitty isekai manga. And like 10 chapters in out of nowhere the mc just buys serveral slaves with no remorse or moral objection beyond a throwaway 'when in Rome' line

Then the little brother of one of the slaves (kid no older than 10 yo) challenges the mc to fight to win back his brother's freedom, and the mc just beats the shit of the little kid.

That's where I dropped it, such trash I didn't even bother remembering the name of the series.

Edit: should probably mention this wasn't an evil mc manga, this guy was supposed to be a good guy

Nah, imo he simply had no concept of morals and put his research above everything and everyone else. The concept of bad and good didn’t exist in his bubble. His only criteria for doing something was whether it benefited his experiments or not.

Otherwise he couldn’t act like a gentle father, yet cut apart his daughter like any other specimen in his laboratory.
