You managed to get rid of gaming? I didn't get rid of it since, for me, writing and gaming are my hobbies. There's also the fact that I really like DOTA and CSGO.
Yep. I only 'get rid' of it when I have to. And my teammates understand whenever I do it. They knew I put more priority in writing and drawing than with gaming.

I'm not a 'fully' gaming person anyway. And our team is composed of chill gamers, not the trash-talking types

I never had the chance to play with chill gamers. My mates are just... you know... very vocal about their feelings. One of my friends are even faster than me at typing when they're so angry. It's also hilarious to watch them go at it. All you could hear are incoherent mumbles that are very much entertaining for me.

P.S: I sometimes troll them when we're playing, just to see their enraged expression. They make the most hilarious expressions when they're angry. 😂😂😂

Try to find people who play like you. You'll enjoy the gaming experience that way. It's quite fun to troll the enemies sometimes. You know, performing some stupid strats and beating the crap out of the enemies. (Their reactions were priceless BTW.)

Well, we troll each other at times, and we're pretty chill about it. I mean, we do get pissed from time to time, but in the end, it's our bonds as gamer friends that prevails.

But they don't try to piss me. I'm their leader anyway. Mwahahahahahaha!!!

(But seriously, I don't know why they don't try to troll me.)

Yes...chillin' is the best. My gamer friends also have the same frustrations as you about 'toxic' people, that's why we've gathered in one Discord group.

I find it’s easier to do more shorter chapters than fewer longer ones. My release rate is technically 7 chapters per week but I could not fathom actually writing a chapter with more than 1.5k words. It’s just not something I could do, I don’t write like that. It really depends on what kind of author you are. Some are quite able to just sit and write for several hours straight (not me) and others write inhumanly fast (also not me).
But since my chapters are all about 1k words, I find it much easier to write them. They are short enough to write a chapter in one sitting but not spend so many hours on a single chapter that I burn out. (I’ve gotten it down to about an hour per chapter, it was 2 hours when I started.) Though, I am that guy who doesn’t plan anything that I write so all the time I spend on my novel is either writing or stopping to think.
I don’t think audiences mind having short chapters if the release rate is high enough, ‘high enough’ being maybe once every 2 or three days. Idk, it’s not an exact science. Anything more is a bonus really. Though if you go for longer chapters (by that I mean at least 2k words) a slower release rate is to be expected and I think most people would accept that. It is free after all.😊 Since I don’t personally write longer chapters I can’t really comment more that that though.

You can always start a stream like a certain Womble then suddenly people notice you and maybe your patreon account might get a boost.

Ps. I started trying to write in docs and wanted to post in SH, then I find myself better at writing porn because enthusiasm and I occasionally gets high on my own supply.

Nah. I don't have something like a Patreon. Also, streaming is not my thing. I like to keep gaming as a hobby. Being 'noticed' and getting 'popular' is not in my bucket list.

I don't know how the people with full-time jobs and education and all that do it either, but it's not too hard to do when you don't have a life.

also time to post this again: https://wordcounter.net/blog/2017/12/04/103207_the-daily-word-counts-of-19-famous-writers.html

Web serial authors and readers set unhealthy expectations for word counts, so don't worry about it too much.
Well shit. I get pissy with myself if I don't somehow AT LEAST write 1-1.5k words a day....and here we have famous dudes writing fucking 300-600 a day only? Kinda humbling/humiliating XDD

I guess it is more on quality than quantity... at least you have been following on a strict hobby, I kinda tapped out after a month of lockdown. Was forcing myself to go beyond 2K per day and when I go back and read the stuff, I feel like I am those writers who just fill the chapters with pointless and redundant words.

It is simple if the plot is ongoing, but for me ended up vocalizing every motion made by the cast, it felt painful for me to even read.

i'm motivated to write more, if the story makes me wanna laugh.

i can't really give a fuck about anything in this life, so it's either something fun or funny.

I basically spent two days writing a flashback scene, 1.5k the first half of the scene and I wrapped it up with 1.3k in the second half of the flashback, and that was only the beginning of the chapter. I haven't even gotten the relevant details of what the chapter is even about. This makes me want to keep going because regardless of the word count, I feel unfulfilled in my quota

Ive been lurking here for a bit and I keep on seeing readers expect 2 to 3k word chapters per week!!! My limit for good creative writing in a day is around 800-1000 words so i should be able to make that expectation but i just plain don't want to... I am in my final year of highschool and such writing practices would dearly cut into my relaxing and more importantly studying time... How do you all keep such schedules with full time jobs,,, education etc etc?

Imagination and motivation bro don't stop writing and keep thinking.

Try your best to not burn yourself out, it is nice to hit a quota but always remember that you write for fun. Unless you are doing this for a living, then good luck, have fun and may whatever deity/ deities that you believe in bless you.

What if all you can think is pink and SH has a strict "no porn" policy lol? Personally believe writing a story is to have fun with it, like what you do and things flow out with ease.

You gotta think a way to make it interesting if Ideas keep popping up don't hesitate to write it and keep it for later. Yes, and having fun writing is the best way for the author too ya know.

Bro, I'm basically a word regurgitator. I spit out whatever is on my mind and slap it into a coherent story.
