Spear.
It's the META weapon in medieval times.
Lightweight, Easy to made, Easy to use, easy to master, long range, high damage.
It's damn fast and have long range. It's simply like giant sword, but more practical. It's like those fancy staff user, but those staff spinning move can slash the enemy instead of just bonk-ing them.
It's always better than sword except in small area like interior houses. But in big castle hallway, it's very usable.
Spear is the Assault Rifle that soldier use at wars. Swords and knifes is just side weapon like shotgun or pistol that deal specific or short range damage. But in 99% of situations, Spear is the best.
Sword and other flashy weapon is always favored that speed because it beautiful and flashy enough to attract reader.
Usually those with sword saint knight fetish or some shit.
But spear is the real weapon soldiers use in wars.
Show those young masters, rogue warrior, and those sword worshipper how supreme spear is.
show them that They can give their sword longer handle, and it will become more superior with longer range and still fast as hell.

I made my own delusional theory that those sword saint xianxia with fancy clan/family technique were just superhuman that have delusional sword fetish that can only achieve true potential only when they use sword.
While in reality they're just as strong and capable to move fast and cut through anything with just wooden sword, toy knife club, tree stick, or anything. Even spear or bare hands. The range is just the same.
