I'm scripting my next video right now, with a focus on the first line. I'd like to know, would anybody like to have their works featured in mine? In this case, all I care about is the opening sentence.

I'll feature your opening sentence (not sentences, sentence) if I like it and it fits the criteria for the topic I'm focusing on as a strong example.

I'd also love to see some professional examples that inspire you if you could share those too. I'm gathering as many examples as I can, but this would speed up the process for me a great deal. Plus I don't mind spotlighting others if they can pass my test.

Also, PLEASE put it here in the thread so I don't have to go digging for stuff.

Just give me the line and I'll see if it passes the test!

The only type of self-promotion! :ROFLMAO: But yeah, if you want in, post the opening line in this thread so I don't have to go digging.

It’s not my flashiest first line, but it gets the point across:

“I stood in the antechamber of the Demon King's Tower—a spacious chamber of dark stone that resided atop a great tower of 278 grueling floors—taking this moment to reflect upon my journey so far.”

If prologues aren’t your thing, here’s chapter one’s line: “In hindsight, I should have been kinder to the boy.”

Do you have any guide on Note taking and managing all the plot, events, and other asset inside our story ?

And is there any flowchart to choose which idea would be included and which idea isn't?

Sorry, I haven't made any guides for that yet and don't have any immediate plans to make it as I've already outlined the schedule for this entire year. This question does interest me though, mainly with the flowchart, so I'll think about it and maybe write an article on it this year. But no promises.

If you do want my recommendations though, I suggest using mind mapping.

An idea for a video I have is about villain monologues, its an overused trope but it is always fun to see.

Here's the opening line from my book:

"Well, that was boring," an emotionless voice bemoaned from the emptiness of space.

That said, one of my favorite openers comes from Francis Of The Filth by George Miller
A long time ago in a dimension far, far away there was a collective of midgets fighting over a hummus snack, who have nothing at all to do with our story, which really begins in a small and very unhygienic bedroom of what humans call 'New York'.

There is also Sir Terry Pratchett's The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Here:

A Rules Lawyer Stuck In A Literal RPG:
[Are You Sure You Wish To Apply For A Character? This choice is irreversible. Y/N]

Hara-Kiri Nonfeasance:
The driver got the first glimpse of his target, a young girl.

Flip The Script:
Toshi stopped walking as he tried to figure out where the planet went.

I was summoned by a super villainess to another universe:
"So you are saying I was summoned by a supervillainess to another universe?"

Hotrod Lantern:
~And when you get there remember...~

The Origin Of The Quonset Manager:
Day 116: I have been wandering this blasted landscape for far too long.

Memos:
To: All Inbound Specialists of Department Zero

Have fun.

Oh. For your script:

The first sentence gets them to read the first paragraph.
The first paragraph gets them to read the first chapter.
The first chapter presents them with a question the reader should only find the answer to by the end of the story.

Hello, here is the opening line for my series:

In the surreal void, my disoriented cry echoes, "Where am I, what's going on?" My voice, now high-pitched and reminiscent of a little girl's, fills the surrounding silence. I notice a change, a regression in age, accompanied by a jarring shift in my physical stature.

Some professional works Opening lines that inspire me are:

The Opening line in the The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe.

"DURING the whole of a dull, dark, and soundless day in the autumn of the
year, when the clouds hung oppressively low in the heavens, I had been
passing alone, on horseback, through a singularly dreary tract of country;
and at length found myself, as the shades of the evening drew on, within
view of the melancholy House of Usher."

And

The Opening line in Maximum Ride: The Angel Expirement by James Patterson.

"The funny thing about facing imminent death is that it really snaps everything else into perspective."

I remember saying you liked my first chapter in your thread, so you can include the first line from that story if you want

Have you ever heard the phrase "Don't wake the sleeping giant"?

Yes, i'd like very much. Here's the first line:

It was cold and dark. A foul moldy odor pervaded the air, along with it a metallic taste. Amidst the darkness lay a young woman on the floor, half-conscious and confused.

As for a professional example, i guess this one is a classic:
Call me Ishmael.

Another professional example, a classic from brazilian literature (The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas):
The Authors Demise

For some time I debated over whether I should start these memoirs at the beginning or at the end, that is, whether I should put my birth or my death in first place. Since common usage would call for beginning with birth, two considerations led me to adopt a different method: the first is that I am not exactly a writer who is dead but a dead man who is a writer, for whom the grave was a second cradle; the second is that the writing would be more distinctive and novel in that way. Moses, who also wrote about his death, didn't place it at the opening but at the close: a radical difference between this book and the Pentateuch.

While there is stuff I could say about it, it isn't on the docket for this year. I don't consider it a high priority for writers as a whole. I might do such things in the future or maybe as one of my short articles, but it will depend big time on my whims.

My opening sentences aren't too exciting, but you're welcome to use them if you want.

Shadow of Anaurian:
Typical, Erin thought miserably as she stepped out of the airplane. Just typical.
(That's technically two sentences, but they're connected, and one is a fragment, so...yeah.)

The Consequences of Meeting a Dragon:
One of the best memories Thenio had of his childhood was when his father took him to see a magic circus when he was five years old.

For professional examples, I've always liked the opening of Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka:
One morning, when Gregor Samsa woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin.

Ooh! Fancy! I gotta warn you all, mine's a bit of a run-on sentence. It's got far too many commas and makes an entire paragraph by itself. If you don't mind the text wall, this is it:

Higher beings.
