Parenting hack: candles. Not for burning, just for smelling. Get the ones in the metal containers with the metal lids, and the kid can match the lids to the containers after smelling all of them. You can dream about burning them in a few years.
Kid pulled hand-crank ice shaver out of my office, and now he's been cranking for a solid hour while I hold down the top plunger thingy that pushes the ice against the blades.
Kid came down with fever and had two naps yesterday. Went to bed late, woke up early, peed in his potty, vomited immediately after peeing, so thankfully it was in the bathroom and easy to clean up, sipped a little water, drank a lot of my milk, ate a few crackers, drank more of my milk, still had low-grade fever but was otherwise his usual self.
