I edited the newsletter to be monthly, since it feels like this version of AG is moving slower than the prior versions (writing an actual story takes time!). That said, moving slow isn't a bad thing! It gives people plenty of time to read things, so it's a much more manageable pace!

True! I don't know how previous versions of AG were but, I feel that people don't have to rush to get their responses out or feel pressured because this AG is going too fast for them to keep up with. Plus the OOC thread is pretty active too even though it's slow.

In the last version of AG, there were 208 quest reports in the first week. I think people are writing a lot slower this time since they're working on an actual novel.

I'm not totally sure if I understand the question! If you're asking for tips on writing the beginning of your story, here are a few suggestions:

A. Your character can walk into a guild office and register directly with the guild. You can check the Adventurer's Guild entry on the Library to see some notes that other players have added from their own stories. Generally speaking, you are allowed to make up your things, so you can always invent a receptionist character to interact with, or you can use a receptionist that someone else made. You can also leave these kind of details vague in your story (i.e. unnamed receptionist).

B. If you don't want to physically walk into a guild office, you could have your character recruited to the guild by some kind of wandering agent.

C. You could also skip the guild registration scene completely. Introductions are sometimes annoying to write, so fast forwarding through your story to after they registered is totally fine as well. You should write what interests you, so if you want to take quests, just skip directly to the quests! You can always go back to write an introduction if you want to (and you can reorder chapters on SH too).
There is of course the old man route where you skip all that whippersnapper stuff. Huzzah!

While I did not participate in the last one, this version of AG is also unique from all previous versions of AG (which I did participate in) where there is a complete lack of rank grind- so instead of being pushed by that urge to grind up to a higher adventurer ranking, the only sense of achievement comes from writing interesting stories with interesting characters xD

Ah, I see! And yes, I would be pleased to collaborate, considering since there hasn't been quite little of that going on in a roleplay of all things, so might as well get the ball rolling somewhere.

If you don't mind, I'll have my character contact you over ButterflyCh to ask about the quest!
Sorry last night I past out, so I’ll try to be on tonight! I am still getting used to my new work schedule!

ISo in the old days there is several ways, If i remember correctly

you start with

[Not evaluated] at the top some color it red some don't, once the quest report is evaluated, you change it to [Evaluated] and color it green

After the heading you "quote" the quest you are doing. important bit is to include the Reward part of the quest.

After that, you do your report, (Spoiler it if you want), You can either,

1. do a summary in bullet points

2. Role play, pretend you are actually talking to a receptionist, and monologue your quest, telling them what you experienced

3. Write a story like a chapter in a book, but usually in 1st person or 3rd person limited

4. I don't remember anymore ways

Next
Some people RP signing off the report some people don't, if there is a specific person, that need to evaluate it tag them.

Post it

===
When a receptionist is evaluating, it is up to them to see if they want to reply to your RP. Some might just stamp the quest and give you the reward. some might fail your quest, some might reply a fully written bit giving you, comments, advice or encouragement etc.

That was the old way. Things might have evolved some what in new AG. So just roll with it try a few ways. once you report a few quest, just do what feel the best for you.
Ah, thats not really what I was kinda asking for but thanks. I only ask if I can create a senario to register in a guild, something like how a newbie registers into the guild and all that stuff. Plus, I would have read and follow up through the rules of how to RP and writing a questing through others such that I won't make a mistake.

Ah, so I can freestyle on how to register? Got it.

I'm the type to wrack my brains as to how to let my characters interact with the world and uphold the rules so I was having trouble on making a senario regarding that.

As for your suggestion, I'll pick B since it doesn't make sense on how easily I could enter a town without any explaination and how lax the security is. Trying to go for realism for a bit and make stuff up the more I know how the rules would be applied to my story.

For now, I'm kinda working on the first chapter and after I'm done, I'll try to do some quest and go back to writing again.

:blobrofl: A lot characters seem to have just walked straight in! I guess at this point, the best explanation is that the security must pretty lax? Or many of the guards aren't very good at their jobs? Perhaps some of the cities/islands have more strict security than the other ones~

EDIT: The main "rule" per say, is to try to work together with other players' stories. That's pretty much it! It's not even a very strict rule -- deviating from the consensus is fine, but it just might end up being ignored by other players as non-canon if it is too different from the majority of stories.

Hello, this is the manager department of AG, and this is your host, Alice, speaking, how may I help you?

Uhum, I see I see, you're complaining about the release pace of newsletters? Then please let me explain it to you, dear customer...

We're out of news! \(^^)/

Like, Week 1: There was a calamity! We're trying to fix the issues caused by it!
Week 2: We are clearing some rubble!
Week 3: There is still a lot of rubble to clear... >.>
Week 4: A child found a pony!

See!? That's the kind of news you'll get! We'll go bankrupt just from the printing costs if we keep up the weekly pace! >.<

The isekai powers totally broke our chain of supplies and information, please wait until the flow becomes regular again so that we can go back to our normal schedule~

This was Alice from the AG newspaper agency, thanks for contacting us, and we hope you have a wonderful week~

*bzzzzt*
